Cost is $7 per person and it includes use of our extensive AccuCut center full of alphabet and shape dies to suit your scrapbooking and cardmaking needs. Our staff will be happy to give you a brief lesson in using the center and you'll be amazed at just how easy it is to use and at all the wonderful projects you'll be able to create. A microwave, mini fridge and coffemaker are also available for use - bring your food or order out! There is plenty of counter space and outlets available for your Cricut, Silhouette or laptop. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.

In Scrapbook Virgins we'll focus on the basics - tools (paper trimmers, adhesive, and scissors), papers (cardstocks), cropping and layout. You'll leave knowing the fundamental tools of creating your very first scrapbook pages. This class is geared toward the novice. What to bring: 3-5 photos (4X6) of the same theme or event. You'll make some custom grungepaper embellishments and add lots of detail.Next you'll ink with the brand-new distress ink colors, stamp with brand-new studio 490 stamps and some old favorites too, paint with the paint dabbers to create texture and embellish with cool new chipboard minis from Maya Road. Lynell Harlow was a SUCCESS
We had Lynell Harlow from Dreamweavers Stencils to teach us two exciting techniques classes and everyone that was in class definitely learned what to do now with those beautiful stencils. A big Thank you to Marsha and Laura for helping out in the two classes, it did make the day run smooth. Laura was just recently accepted for the design team of Dreamweavers, and everyone was able to see the beautiful work that she does with them. Here are a few pictures of these classes.

I was looking and found the most recent and updated look at his new machine and it just came from Tim Holtz himself. If you haven't checked out his Blog please do,http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/07/chasummer-2010-sneak-peek-11-alterations.html, he is giving just a great amount of sneak peeks to get you ready for all the new products that will be coming out in the next few months.

the vagabond is a personal die cut machine unlike anything you have ever seen before, and trust me when i say it works like no other machine too. this portable, fully electric motorized machine, makes die cutting and embossing incredibly simple and truly limitless. i wanted a machine that was more powerful than any machine out in the market. why??? simple, i want it to cut and emboss thicker materials like grungeboard, chipboard, bookboard, metal, canvas, acrylic in addition to layers of cardstock, grungepaper, and fabrics. this powerhouse not only cuts with ease, but embosses full sheets of grungeboard and chipboard with out any hesitation...
of course not only did this machine have to work like no other, it needed to look the part too. that's where the challenges really came in and everyone at sizzix did an amazing job in sharing the same creative visions - thank you so much! i designed a machine to resembles a vintage suitcase that has traveled the world with it's unique hardware, nostalgic texture, and distressed finish. i designed a machine that looked artful enough to leave out yet entirely compact so it wouldn't take up much space. i designed a machine that could cut and emboss any art medium i wanted to use so i wasn't limited to just paper. the vagabond is truly everything i imagined it to be...
so i leave you with a few photos of the cool hand-sketched, vintage suitcase styled packaging it will come in (shipping late september), and of course the machine both opened and closed. as you can see we've made quite a few changes since it's earlier debut including collapsible guide rails, antiqued texture and finish (it even comes with themed luggage stickers you can put on your machine), and a quiet motor you have to hear to believe. i am beyond excited to share with you, the long awaited release of the new vagabond machine - i just can't wait to show you all it can do! i'll be posting videos from the cha show next week so stay tuned! ...t!m

Lynell Harlow, owner and designer of Dreamweaver Stencils, is preparing to teach two classes at Scrap Tales Saturday, July 24. Lynell will demonstrate her unique techniques for working with her stencil designs. She'll tell you all about her new designs and new product releases that she will debut at CHA.
We know we have a lot of Dreamweaver Stencil fans out there so you will not want to miss these classes - students still talk about her previous visit and all the wonderful techniques they learned from her.
Lunch will be provided for those attending both classes.
Lynell's first class begins at 11 a.m. and will focus on "Crackle Paste Techniques." Join her as she teaches you step-by-step techniques of using Crackle Paste that is formulated for using metal stencils on paper. Then you will have fun learning to stencil with two stenciling mediums including the NEW Metallic F/X Powders. Students need to bring 2 gold-handled Dreamweaver Stencil brushes; all other materials are provided. This class is $40.
In her second class, "Putting on the Glitz"which begins at 2 p.m., Lynell teaches techniques for using three different mediums for adding pizzazz to your cardwork. Microbeads, glitter and mica powders are materials to be reckoned with when you work with metal stencils.
