We Have a WINNER!!!!!!!!!

Our very own Laura Drahozal has taken first place in the Designs by Reminisce $1000 Passports Dream Travel contest! Laura submitted her album "The Fabric of America" after spending countless hours carefully creating each layout. Pages for this contest were submitted electronically and winners were chosen from hundreds of submissions. See Laura's work here: www.reminisce.typepad.com

Laura is a valued employee with Scrap Tales who teaches our Scrapbook Virgins Class (this is the class aimed at beginner scappers), Silhouette classes, glass etching and Dreamweaver Stencils. Students love her classes and creative perspective on scrapbook pages, cards and projects. Maybe we can convince her to teach travel pages based on her entries - what do you think?
You can send your congratulations to her at Facebook.

What came in today

Just got back from the store where I was putting in all the new product that just came in.  We got a fresh new order of Copic markers and 24 wallet holders.

That came in just the right time because we have another beginner class with Sandy Hulsart coming up on the 23rd of Februrary.  Here is a little description of that class along with a picture of some of the things that you will learn to do.

Basic Copics and Beyond  $25

Copic Certified Instructor, Sandy Hulsart, will walk you through the basics of using Copic markers. Students will learn coloring and blending techniques using an assortment of stamps. Sandy will explain the numbering system of Copics, how to refill the pens and replace the nibs, how to blend your colors seamlessly and the use of the Blender pen, as well as what paper and ink to use. She will cover creating custom colors from a limited palette. You will receive many useful handouts to take home with you. Sandy will also demonstrate airbrushing, which you will be able to give a try. The class has been extended to 3 hours with additional images to give you more time to practice with your markers.

Bring your Copic markers and a blender pen.

Class size is limited to 15 students so register early to ensure your spot!

Then we also got a new supply of American Craft embellishments and Paper Packs.

Remodeling

Well it's that time and we have decided to remodel Scrap Tales. Linda has posted some great pictures on face book so I thought that I would share them with you.  We have decided to change the old crop room to the new and improved Stamp room.  Then the old stamp room has become our new crop and class room.  We have been patching walls and will be painting the next couple of days, so we will be done by Saturday for the 12 hour crop.  Here are some pictures of us all in action. Dave and I, Lisa and Mike, with Abby too moved slat wall and products too.  So come in this weekend and check out the changes that we have done so far, and I am sure there are more to come with Linda and Sarah working the night shift on Saturday, so I am sure that Sunday will hold a new store layout.

Having Fun

Having fun!

We had a wonderful time at the Garage Sale Saturday! Everyone enjoyed all the choices and some great bargains. We appreciate everyone coming out and being so patient - hope you all enjoyed the chocolate Sarah kept passing around.
The line finally wound down just a little around 2 p.m. In addition to all the great bargains in the Garage Sale nearly every item in the store (Tim Holtz new stamps & Copic markers excluded) is 30% off and this deal runs through Sunday, Jan. 31.
The new Tim Holtz stamps from Stampers Anonymous arrived this week and Wendy Vecchi's should be in soon.
We're expecting loads of new products to begin arriving soon so watch your emails for regular updates.
